Candy Store Craving - Oil - 22x28

Dedicated in memory of my father

The Arts are something that I have been interested in, since I was a child. I had such a wonderment about several – how is a ballet choreographed, how is music composed, how does an artist make a painting look like a photograph… Luckily, I had a father that could guide me thru my intrigue. He wasn’t an “artist”, but he too, was very interested in The Arts.  Specifically, he introduced me to the fascinating world of famous painters.

Several years and 2 children later, I finally decided to take one brave step forward and began taking art classes. I fell in love with oil painting; while occasionally working in acrylics. My next step, was a step of faith; I opened my own studio/gallery. I selected four other artists to join me, as resident artisans. We opened the doors to “Two Doors Art: Studio & Gallery” in the summer of 2007. My goal is to continue adding artists, who specialize in a variety of mediums. This diversity would give our patrons a chance to learn about and appreciate the various forms of art.

While most artists have their “signature style” and subject that they are “known for,” I find that I like the freedom of not being boxed-in. I love to explore many styles and many subjects. By doing so, it keeps my art fresh and ever evolving. The only consistency is that every painting shows a memory or emotion from within my life.

I have had the good fortune, not only to open a studio/gallery, but to have taken workshops and studied under some amazing artists. Studying art in Italy, was an incredible experience. This whole journey, continues to be a real dream come true.  I never want to look back at my life with regret; "I wish I had...". With that in mind, I will continue to strive toward my ambitions.

It is my hope to ignite the passion for art in those who see my paintings, as my father did for me.
